Hester signs with Falcons

Devin Hester, you are ridiculous.

You’re also the newest member of the Atlanta Falcons.

The Falcons signed Hester, 31, on Thursday after courting the Pro Bowl kick returner earlier this week. Hester’s deal is for three years, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

As Bears fans know, Hester is the NFL’s all-time leader in combined kick return touchdowns (18) and punt return touchdowns (13). Hester’s next score will push him past Deion Sanders for the all-time return touchdown record, which takes interceptions and fumble recoveries into account.

Hester’s eight-year run with the Bears was filled with ups and downs, including a failed experiment as the team’s No. 1 receiver. In Atlanta, he joins a team with a high-powered offense and top playmakers at wide receiver including Roddy White and Julio Jones.

The Falcons will host the Bears next season at the Georgia Dome.
