The Bears signed center Taylor Boggs and defensive back Derrick Martin to one-year deals, the team announced Monday.
Boggs appeared in only one game in 2013, but he was active and dressed for all 16 games. The second-year player out of Humboldt State was an exclusive rights free agent.
Roberto Garza’s contract is expiring, leaving Boggs as the only center currently on the roster for 2014.
Martin, who turns 29 in May, played in seven games after signing with the Bears midseason. He also spent time with the team in training camp. In seven games, Martin had three tackles on defense and one on special teams.
In eight NFL seasons, Martin has played for five teams and has eight career passes defensed and three interceptions.
